So, I’ve been chatting with Jet and one of the best advice he’s given me that’s enabled me to reach my goals was something I’ll call, “Hustle Theory”
It basically enables the person, aka you, to become so obsessed and motivated for success that success actually comes your way. How is that possible? Where do I start?
First, organize *your* priorities. What do you want? Is it 10k in a month? 40k in a year? We all have deadlines we need to make whether it’s paying off our school loans or getting rid of debt. Organize your priorities. If you need 100k in one year that’s almost $8400 a month you need to make. In that formula that’s 2100 a week you need to accomplish to reach that goal. If you’re charging let’s say, $400/ hour that’s 5-6 clients you need to see in a week to accomplish that goal. You could see 3 in one day and maybe one any other day. It’s all up to you just start organizing and breaking down the facts so that number doesn’t look so scary anymore and it looks more accomplish-able.
Secondly, begin the preparations. You have your number a week you need in order to get where you want now what? Get a calendar whether it’s a yearly one or a monthly one and start X-ing off the days. You have a deadline and each X represents what you’ve accomplished so far. Keep a sheet documenting your earnings of the week - you can put it on your calendar or put it into an excel sheet. This will keep track if you’re maintaining towards your goals or not.
Thirdly, always be ready. Maximize every single fucking opportunity. Stop making excuses! You’re too tired because you rather watch another season of Greys Anatomy? Run to your hour or two hour appointment and while you’re there laying in bed think about how excited you’ll be once you get home to watch it. Always take appointments and dates - don’t make excuses for them. This is how you continue to make $$. Always try to be ready - do your make up and hair in the morning and post some ads or bump them. It’s motivation to continue working and you’re ready for the day. Make a set schedule like its a 9-5 job. Maybe your hours of operation are 10-3, 6-9. Figure out what works for you but don’t overwork yourself.
Fourthly, continue to network. Keep an open eye for opportunities and don’t burn any bridges. Handle situations with maturity and care not based on emotional reactions. Yes, there will be some clients/sugar daddies that are fucking annoying, clingy, or whatever but they pay you and it’s like a job. How do you think customer service operates? You are the exact same position… handling terrible or really awesome customers providing YOUR service. Do you think the customer service at K-mart is aloud to cry and bang her head on the floor because she has a rude customer? No, and she’s getting paid $10 an hour to put up with that shit. There’s a difference toleration towards annoyance and abuse. If someone is being abusive - then there is no such thing as a tolerance towards that - immediately cut it off. Small things like he talks too much, or smells bad, or down right is just boring is not an excuse to cut him off. You are immature.
Lastly, don’t get lost in the mix. Yes you’ll be killing it with $$ but don’t go spending it. Be frugal and learn how to save it. Don’t compromise, “well I just bought an iPad for $500 I can see 2 clients to make it back and make profit”. The reason I say this is because this WILL turn into a cycle that you continuously follow and you’ll be constantly WORKING just to make the shopping money you spent back! It’s nice to treat yourself but limit it to once a month if you have to. Prioritize of things you *need* and things you *want* let other people pay for them.
If you can take anything away from this - know that your goal is possible and that you need to stay focused. Become obsessed with the idea and your goal and work with these steps and you will find progress.
